Death Knows No Color

https://www.pexels.com/photo/graveyard-grave-stones-gravestones-graves-7911/Dearly beloved:  May GOD’S grace, peace, love, mercy and protection be ever upon you.  I want to talk to you about an equal opportunity employer – DEATH!  Death knows no color, political association nor gender.  Death kills indiscriminately.  I was very troubled by the news that a young and attractive woman by the name of Justine Damond was gunned down by a police officer in Minnesota.  She was a white woman, but regardless of the color of her skin, her death matters every bit as much as anyone else. The bullets that pierced her flesh did not care whether or not she was white or black.  The country is stunned and for the first time in a long time people are beginning to realize that we are all at the mercy of the police.  Our crooked and broken system of law needs to change.  The chief of police resigned over the incident which is something that I have not seen in the cases of murdered black men.  Death knows no color, but people do.  And that hurts us as a society.  I found it both refreshing and encouraging that people of color spoke out about this tragedy and I pray that more will.  It is only when we are able to truly understand and empathize with one another that we can truly begin to heal as a people.  My country is so divided by hate and misunderstanding.  The vultures who are in power use that division to blind us to the truth.  It is only when we unite in love that we will triumph over hate.  GOD is LOVE and LOVE is GOD!!!  I don’t know what happened in Minnesota.  None of us do.  I pray that people reserve judgement against the officers involved.  Don’t be so quick to point fingers; For in so doing you could condemn an innocent man for an accidental death.  I am praying for officer Mohamed Noor and his family.

Without Jesus there are no winners in death.  Everybody loses.  But, if we can unite as one people in faith and love, we can use this experience to better our society.  If we can see past our differences and focus on our fundamental human rights, we can change.  I am not the first to suggest such a radical idea nor shall I be the last.  We have tried living in hatred and our society has deteriorated.  LOVE is the answer.  LOVE is the ultimate truth.

I look at the O.J. Simpson parole hearing and I listen to the comments and what I hear is a country that is even more divided now than it was 23 years ago during his trial.  After all of the many thousands of years that our society has existed, we are still plagued by something as trivial as the color of our skin.  It is a sickness.  The single greatest threat to mankind is mankind.  For all of our technical gains we are still unable to move forward
as a society.  Hate and death know no color, but neither does love.  You know, I look around my country and I am struck by the potential we have as a nation.  I cant understand why we have confederate statues in 2017.  Why it is we glorify such symbols of hate is beyond me.  It wouldn’t be any different than Nazi statues being glorified in Europe.  We should never celebrate tyrants and traitors.  What would this world of ours be if the Nazis or the south had won?  I shudder at the thought of that.  Let us celebrate those who have walked this earth in peace and Love; those who have chosen to follow in the footsteps of our LORD and savior JESUS CHRIST.  As we face yet another death at the hands of a police officer, let us not focus on the color of her skin.  Let us see her as one of us.  A citizen of the world.  A creation of GOD.  Let us not hate the police, but the crooked system that trained them.

As I now fight in court against this racist system, I can’t help but empathize with all who struggle against it.  I do not hate the people who conspired to steal my life.  Instead, I choose to walk the path of my LORD and heed His lessons.  I fall short everyday, but still I strive.  As I predicted in an earlier post, the attorney general of Maine is running for governor, which will probably mean that the crooked deputy who prosecuted my case will most likely take her place.  The very thought is scary.  On the day I heard the news, I was angry.  I prayed and the LORD reminded me of Ephesians 6:12 – “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”   My anger has turned to pity.  I feel sorry for those who have taken on a spirit of corruption.  I forgive them for they do not understand the gravity or their actions.

I was recently in a cell with a man who had 32 years of his life stolen for a crime he did not commit.  He has finally gotten a court to hear his case and from the looks of it he will soon be going home.  He has a good heart, but he is bitter with those who stole his life.  I have shed a few tears for him as I know what that feels like.  I have prayed many times that the LORD not let me become like this man.  His pain runs so deep.  I have also prayed that he heed Ephesians 6:12 as well.  Human beings are fallible.  Our flesh makes us weak.  We are prone to the darkness of sin.  Satan is the spirit of death.  Death does not discriminate.  It knows no color. Satan is hate and hate is satan.

I want to speak to those of you reading this who are not saved.  Now is the time!!!  If you join us on the path of light then death cannot touch you.  You will only face physical death, but spiritually you will forever live in bliss, one with THE LORD.  Hate is satan, but GOD is LOVE and LOVE is GOD!!!  Hate will never triumph over LOVE.  I know you are hurting and tired.  I know that your past is eating you up.  I know that you wake up everyday and ask yourself why you should continue to live.  I have been there.  I tried everything to make the pain go away, but nothing worked until I found GOD.  I still struggle, but not as much anymore.  I find a reason to smile every day thanks to GOD.  Even as a prisoner who’s life has been stolen, I find joy and purpose.  And, you are a part of that purpose.  GOD is using me to speak to you right now and tell you about the hope that you desperately need.  Come and join me on the path.  Repeat the following prayer and find your true destiny:
“Dear Jesus, I know that because of my sin I need Your forgiveness.  I believe that You died on the cross for my sins.  I believe You rose again so I could live with You.  I want to stop living for myself and start living for You.  I want Your peace in my life. I want forgiveness for my sins.  Please come into my heart and change my life.  I want to live with You forever.  I want You to be my Lord and Savior.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.”
