Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. (NKJV)
What a strong and powerful statement! I often reflect on Jesus’ words. I, myself, being but a man, have trouble grasping such a statement. No matter how much faith I muster, if will never measure up to the Lord’s. Sometimes as Christians we forget that we are human beings. We make mistakes because our souls are currently encased in flesh. As a man, I admit sometimes it is hard to deal with the struggles of this world. Sometimes I cannot wait to separate from this fleshy tomb and be with my Lord in Heaven. I know some of you feel the same. We have to remember that “to live is Christ.” We must remember Philippians 1:19-26 and Philippians 1:29. You see, our flesh wants to give up. He took the torture. He suffered and died without complaint. I cannot tell you how many times I thought about quitting during my trial; How many times I wanted to give up while facing this adversity. Every time I read about my Lord and what He suffered, I realize how selfish those thoughts are.
It’s all about Philippians 3:8. I would never trade what I have lost, through all of this, for my salvation; For I have gained far more than I ever had. When you feel down; when you are ready to quit; remember you are a Christian – which means you suffer for Christ. Have you any idea what a blessing it is to suffer for the Lord?
